The Twin’s House

Alex “The professor is not going to like that we blew our cover”

Lorna “No, but he will be pleased that they aren’t with the Brotherhood.”

Sarah “Now wait one minute. What is goin on here? Who are you?”

Alex “The professor can explain everything better than us. Do you wish to wait for your mother to get home or would you like to go with us right now?”

Stefon “We want answers now.”

Lorna “Then if you would be so kind as to drive us to the school. Once there he can tell you what you want to know.”

They all get into Stefon’s Jeep again and drive off into the country. They reach the mansion after about an hour and a half and as they make their way up the drive Sarah and Stefon are amazed at the size.

Alex “The grounds cover a good ten miles and there is a pool, tennis court, forest, stream, and many other things.”

Lorna “There are about 200 mutants living here right now. Twenty of witch are teachers and instructors. Not to mention the X-men.”
They park the Jeep in front and walk up the steps to the front door. Inside they go down the hall into a vast library and through a small door that reveals an office.

[Good afternoon Sarah, Stefon. Welcome to the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning.]

Sarah “Who said that?”

Professor X “That would be me.”

The Professor Appears behind the desk seated in a wheelchair.”

Professor X “I imagine that the two of you will have some questions for me. As for you Havok, Polaris, thank you. You may take the rest of the day off from classes.”

Together “Thank you Professor.”

The turn and leave the office and close the door behind them.

Professor X “Now for your Questions.”

Stefon “Well yeah, but where do we start? This was all just a slap in the face, I don’t know what to think let alone what to ask.”

Professor X “Well then let me tell you about my school. When I was a boy I knew that I was different. I had powers that let me read, speak, and control other’s minds. I met another boy like me. His name was Erik Magnus Lehnsherr. We traveled the world together looking for others like us, to help them. Eventually our views started drifting away from each other. While I thought we should blend in with humanity Magnus sought for dominance. He was consumed with the idea and then insisted on being called Magneto. We took our separate paths and I founded this school so others like myself could come here to learn some control over their powers. Magnus still fought to concur the human race. And created the Brotherhood of Mutants. I then realized that fitting in to society was not enough, so I created the X-Men to counter Magnus’s Brotherhood. My original students took their places on the team. That is my story.”

Sarah “Well there are still things that I don’t understand, like why were Alex and Lorna at Bay View if the are known mutants?”

Professor X “I placed them there so they may watch over you. Your mutant genes became active four years ago and I wanted to make sure you didn’t hurt yourselves or others, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are as you know part of the Brotherhood and it alarms me that they would choose to intercept you in a public place.”

Stefon “Well I am still not sure on all of this.”

Professor X “That is quite alright. There is no pressure but in case you would like to come to the school I would like you to see the grounds. I would also like to introduce you to my first student. Jean Grey.”

As he says this a woman with flaming red hair and deep green eyes enters the room.
Jean “Hello, if you’d come with me I can show you around.”

Professor X “Just remember that there is no pressure for you to come to the institute. This is just so you may get a feel for the place.”

The twins look at each other and nod.

Stefon “I think that we would like to come here, seeing as our powers are there. I don’t want to lose control and hurt someone so I think we are all for coming to learn here.”

Professor X “Excellent, then after your tour you may go home and gather your belongings and tell your mother. Should any problems arise only think to me and I shall help in any way I can.”

Twins “Thank you.”

They follow jean out of the office both still shocked at all that had happened in just a few short hours.

Jean “So this is obviously the Library. Those doors to the right lead to a few classrooms although not all classes take place in a room. This hallway leads to the rec room  and through those doors there is a cafeteria and sitting room.”

They head up the stair toward the dorms.

Jean “Here there are two floors of dorm rooms. Mostly integrated but no males and females in the same room.”

Stefon “Do you think that those rules could be bent for family. I would much rather room with Sarah than some guy I don’t even know.”

Jean “I will talk with the Professor, but I’m sure it wont be a problem.”

They head back sown stairs and out the back toward the lawns.

Jean “Out here on the lawns are the sports facilities and the pool. There are gardens and a track. There is also a large forest and much more but those are all things you will discover on you r own. The last is the garage. You may park your jeep here and go out when you have free time. You are expected to attend classes Monday thru Friday but the weekends you will have to yourselves. That is about it, so you can go home and pack and Alex and I will be at your house at about eight.”

They drive home in silence both thinking that this is actually happening. They get home and at to nervous to eat so they just pack and get their possessions that they want to take with them together. Then they sit in their living room and wait for their mother to get home.

Stefon “What do you think of all this?”

Sarah “It feels like, like it is a long time coming. I cant explain it but it is there and it feels like this was what was suppose to happen a long time ago.”

Stefon “That is how I feel to. It just feels right.”

As he said this he snaps his fingers and a ball of fire appears in his palm while Sarah freezes her drink in front of her.

Stefon “Well mom will be pleasantly shocked.”

At five to eight Alex and Jean ring the doorbell and sit in the living room with Sarah and Stefon. Eight comes and goes and at quarter after the garage door opens and the twin’s mother walks in the door.

Stefon “Mom when you get a sec come to the living room, there is something Sarah and I have to tell you.”

She walks into the room and stops dead in her tracks. She drops her briefcase and her eyes narrow.

Jean “Sage?! Is that you Tessa?”

Tessa “Yes it’s me. Why are you….”

She looks to her children and looks to jean and Alex.

Tessa “No, tell me….NO!”

Sarah “Mom? You’re a mutant?”

Tessa “Yes, I have been downplaying that so as to give you and your brother a normal childhood. I was hoping that the X gene would skip you two, but I guess it didn’t.”

Stefon “What powers do you have?”

Tessa “Well I have telepathy, astral projection, and I can remember vast amounts of information.”

Jean “Well then this changes everything. We all thought that Shaw killed you. The Professor must have known you were here, but you know that they must come to the school.”

Tessa “Yes, unfortunately you must go, I cannot teach  you the control you need to learn. I was once a student there myself when I was younger. I was even on the X-Men for a short period.”

Stefon “Wow, I think that I am the shocked one.”

Tessa “I am sorry that I kept this from you but it was for your own protection just as much as it was for mine.”

Alex “Why is it that you faked your own death?”

Tessa “ Sebastian Shaw is a very powerful man. It was the only way to escape his clutches, so I took another name and moved away.”

Jean “Well it is good to know that you are alive and well, but Alex and I will go wait outside. The high school will be informed of your transfer. It was really good to see you again Tessa.”

Jean and Alex walk outside and Tessa looks at her two grown children. She hugs and kisses each of their foreheads. Then they walk outside.

Tessa “Now even though you will be living at the school I still expect phone calls and you are more than welcome top visit. I am still your mother after all and I want to stay in your lives.”

Jean and Alex get in the Hummer they came in and Stefon and Sarah get into Stefon’s Jeep and pull out of the drive way.

The Xavier Institute

Jean “Now seeing as tomorrow is a Saturday there wont be any classes till Monday, and that is when you will be joining the other students. Take the weekend to get to know the other students and the grounds. If you decide to test your powers, please be careful and don’t do anything to dangerous. Alex will you show you to your room. Good night.”

Alex takes them to the third floor and a room at the end of the hall.

Alex “Well here is you room. You can basically so what every you want to the walls and the room itself. Me and Lorna will be in the cafeteria about nine if the two of you would like to join us.”

Stefon “We would love to, thank you Alex.”

Alex leaves and the twins start unpacking and setting up their room. They here a little hustle and bustle from the hall way but no one disturbs them the whole night.

Sarah “What do you think we can expect from this?”

Stefon “I am not sure.”

[A boyfriend]

Sarah “All you think of is boys.”

Stefon “I didn’t say that out loud.”

[This is weird]

Stefon “Maybe it is just between the two of us, I can’t hear anyone else. Twin Telepathy?”

Sarah “Well this should be interesting.”

The next day

At 8:30 Stefon wakes up and takes a shower in the adjoining bathroom. Then he wakes his sister up and at five to nine they walk down to meet Alex and Lorna. When they get down to the table there are a few others sitting with them. A brunette with big white streaks around her face, a white haired African-American, and a young man with shoulder length blond hair who happens to be shirtless because of his large wings.

Alex “Hey Stefon, Sarah, these are our friends Rouge, Ororo, and Warren.”

The twins sit down and the others go about eating and talking like they were before they got there.

Rouge “So what are yall’s powers?”
Stefon “I think this is right, I have the psionic control of fire and Sarah has the same but over forms of water. And also we discovered that we have a kind of twin telepathy.”

Sarah “What about you?”

Rouge “I can absorb memories and abilities through direct contact. That’s why I wear the long sleeves and gloves. I also have superhuman strength and flight.”

Ororo “I have control over the weather which enables me to fly. My code name is Storm.”

Warren “I obviously can fly and I have an accelerated healing factor, and my code name is Archangel.”

Alex “My code name is Havok and I have solar-generated plasma blasts.”

Lorna “I am Polaris and I have magnetic manipulation and my hair is green as part of my mutation just as Warrens wings are part of his.”

Sarah “Well now that we go all the formalities out of the way, who is available around here?”

Stefon “Sarah! Sorry she doesn’t have a defined set of inhibitions, she says whatever pops into her head whether she should or not.”

Rouge “ That’s great we’ll get along just fine suga’. As for who’s available, just about everyone. Scott and Jean have their thing goin and obviously Alex and Lorna here, but otherwise everyone’s schedules won’t let them or there’s no interest.”

Ororo “As for who’s hottest, well that would Cai. You can’t miss him. He is the one with the giant green/black wings and long dirty blonde hair.”

Lorna “He also happens o be gay so that is our the window for you Sarah.”

Sarah “That’s alright Stefon can have him, I was actually eyeing the ice boy over there.”

Warren “Oh, that’s Bobby Drake. Iceman. I can see why you  like him.”

Stefon “Yah, she manipulates ice so I wonder what she ouel do to him?”

They all laugh and finish their brunch.

Rouge “If you two would give me an hour I would be more than happy to introduce you to everyone.”

Stefon “That would be awesome.”

Rouge “Meet you in the rec room in an hour.”
